FIRST RUSSIAN-AMERICAN SCIENTIFIC WORKSHOP WILL BE STARTING IN SOON

The First Russian-American Scientific Workshop “Design of Advanced Functional Materials: Education, Research & Innovations in Engineering” will be held in Kazan on October 7-11, 2013.   

The Workshop will be attended by scientists and lecturers from Arizona State University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Moscow State University and other academic and research organizations from Russia and USA. Such scientists as Associate Vice-President of Arizona State University William Petuskey, Professor of Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department Dominic Gervasio, Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry Department Don Seo will take part in the Workshop.      

More than 200 participants from Romania, Moscow and Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Altai region, Nizhny Novgorod Region and Tatarstan will attend lectures.

During 8 working sessions the scientists and participants will discuss the basic principles and approaches to nanomaterials development, the aspects of its properties, nanomaterials technological aspects and areas of its applicability, and study the aspects of nano-enabled catalysts for low temperature fuel cells.

The lectures will also include such topics as: New Materials Based on Silicates and Aluminum Silicates of Alkali Metals, Resource Efficient and Energy Efficient Technologies and Alternative Energy, Commercialization of Inventions and Copyright.       

According to the Workshop Principal in Russia - Alexander Belyakov, special attention will be paid to the development of joint international educational programs and scientific cooperation between Russian and American universities.  

The Workshop is organized by Kazan National Research Technological University in cooperation with Arizona State University and Innovational production Technopark “Idea”.

Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU) -Kazan State Technological University is actively engaged in the development of cooperation with leading universities, organization of international conferences and scientific workshops, invitation of well-known professors and lecturers from around the world. So, in June, in Kazan there was a meeting of KNRTU members, students and graduate students with   Research Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry Department, Arizona State University Anatoly Korkin and Intern Researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Taisiya Skorina. The meeting was devoted to the prospects for joint research, and the issues of Professional Science Masters degree program (dual certification) for KNRTU students.
