A City Network of Youth Innovation Creativity Centres will be created in Naberezhnye Chelny. The first Youth Innovation Creativity Centre (YICC) was established in Autograd in the framework of School No. 50. The Centre was organized due to the participation of Chelny in the Republican contest for the innovative laboratories creation. The Republic of Tatarstan allocated RUB. 3,8 Million from its budget for the project implementation, and the Executive Committee provided with the premises. According to the Centre’s Director, Deputy Director of LLC “Small Innovative Enterprise” Pavel Aleksejevsky, the main idea is to organize open access for schoolchildren and students to modern universal prototyping equipment, laser engravers, 3D-scanners, milling machines and 3D-printers. At the moment, the Centre has already made more than 30 creative works, another 40 are under development.
Mayor of Chelny Vasil Shaykhraziev called the project as pre-profession oriented preparation of students for further education. According to him, it would be a good thing not to rest on our laurels, but to create a network of such centres. The Mayor instructed his subordinates to study such possibility on business Monday. It's most likely that YICCs will appear on the basis of comprehensive schools.
