Today students of the Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU-KSTU) - participants in the First contest of young talents in computer graphics have told in Technopark “Idea” with the head of Autodesk Educational Programs in Russia and the CIS Dmitry Postelnik about the possibilities of 3D-design and the specifics of the current market.
The meeting, which was also attended by CEO of Technopark “Idea” Sergey Yushko, was held during the visit of Dmitry Postelnik in Kazan. At the meeting the students asked questions about Autodesk products, the possibilities of 3D-modeling, and the difficulties that appear when working with the company’s products. Also during the visit of the expert were presented projects of the winners of the First contest of young talents in computer graphics.
The competition was held in the summer in Technopark “Idea”. The competent jury, which included the heads of residents companies of Technopark, teachers of KNRTU-KSTU and representatives of Centers of Youth Innovative Creativity, evaluated more than 20 projects.
Students of initial courses of KNRTU-KSTU presented during the contest projects, describing the principle of operation of a manual water pump, Tank da Vinci, mechanisms of hand winch and Stirling engine. As noted by the participants, the contest helps to develop and contributes to the practical integration of 3D-technologies (scanning, prototyping, design) in realized by them projects and developments.
According to the results of the competition the first place was won by the project on the development of model oil rocking. Second place was awarded to work on gas meters, and the third was awarded to the project on automatic street lighting. Today Sergey Yushko has awarded the best of the best, he gave to guys a diploma and gifts.
After reviewing the projects of the students, Dmitry Postelnik noted its high level, and also gave advice on future work.
During the meeting the expert spoke about the introduction of Autodesk products in the curriculum of universities, gave the examples of the successful integration of software products in schools and colleges, as well as about the contests and grants held by the company.

Dmitry Postelnik led the development, implementation and support of a large number of non-profit projects in the field of civic education. He has experience of effective cooperation with many foreign charitable foundations and organizations. Prior to joining Autodesk team Dmitry Postelnik worked as the Director of Educational Programs of Cisco Networking Academies for Public Service that is a joint initiative of Russia of Cisco Systems Corporation, the U.S. Agency for International Development and the American non-profit Corporation PH International.
