Technopark “Idea” will advise a Technopark at Peter the Great University

Technopark “Idea” and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) have reached an agreement to work together on the development of the Technopark at the University. The negotiations that took place on January 28, 2016 in Kazan was attended by CEO of Technopark “Idea” Sergey Yushko and Vice-Rector for Research of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University Oleg Ostapenko.

It is expected that within the framework of agreements “Idea” will advise the St. Petersburg University on the development of its own Technopark. Within two years, “Idea” should prepare the Technopark for carrying out accreditation in the European Business and Innovation Centre Network (EBN). Technopark “Idea” will carry out the selection and search of residents, develop a system for creating and efficient functioning of small innovative enterprises, will supervise the work of the administration of the new Technopark.

As well as it is expected that the results of the joint activities the Technopark at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University will ensure the implementation and bringing to market the results of University developments, will positively impact on the organization of educational process, promotes the growth of practical skills of students and faculty.

Note that with the participation of “Idea” at the site of Technopark and in Kazan were successfully launched several federal programs: the Federal Business Incubator; Technopark in the sphere of high technologies, which gave rise to the creation of IT-Park and Technopolis “Himgrad”; Nanotechnology Center; Center for Youth Innovation Creativity. Kama Industrial Park “Master” and Technopark “Idea-Yugo-Vostok” were built by Technopark “Idea” together with major private companies of OJSC “KAMAZ” and OJSC “Tatneft” respectively.

Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University is the largest technical university of the country with historically strong scientific schools, with has undeniable results and achievements in scientific, educational and innovation activities. People who have studied and lectured at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University during more than one hundred years contributed much to the fame and recognition of the university: Nobel laureates Peter Kapitsa, Nikolay Semyonov, Zhores Alfyorov and others.
