Winners of competitions “UMNIK” and “START” from the Republic of Tatarstan have been defined

An expert council, dedicated to the selection of innovative projects of scientific and technical competitions “UMNIK” and “START”, was held within the framework of the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum

The expert commission, which included representatives of the innovative infrastructure of the Krasnoyarsk region and other Russian regions headed by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in the scientific and technical sphere Ivan Bortnik, considered more than 70 projects from Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Mordovia and Kaluga, Samara, Ulyanovsk, Lipetsk, Tomsk, Tyumen, Irkutsk and Novosibirsk regions, the Altai and the Perm regions. Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Oleg Pelevin as well as was a part of the expert commission.

Representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in the scientific and technical sphere,  State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Tatarstan “Tatarstan Center for Scientific and Technical Information” took part from the Republic of Tatarstan in the event in videoconferencing mode. There were also representatives of small companies in the framework of the program “Start” (LLC Scientific and Production Enterprise “Ecoselect”, LLC “Scientific and Production Union “Intekh-KISI”, LLC “NovaST”, LLC “Alkilen”) and universities within the framework of the program “Umnik” (Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Kazan State Power Engineering University”, Kazan National Research Technical University named after A.N.Tupolev - KAI (KNRTU-KAI), Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Kazan National Research Technological University”, Kazan State Medical University), introduced in the format of the presentation of their projects.

The winners from the Republic of Tatarstan became Linar Sabitov (the competition “Start”) with the research and development of joints of steel pipes of different diameter and Nadezhda Malatsion (the competition “UMNIK”) with the development of a method of estimating power characteristics variable frequency drives.

The program of support of talented youth “UMNIK” is designed for young scientists aged between 18 and 28 years, the best of which receive funding in the amount of 400 thousand rubles for two years. The participants of the program are exempt from paying taxes. For innovators who have successfully defended their projects at the end of two years and are ready to create their own enterprises, the FASIE proposes to participate in the program “UMNIK on Start”.

The program “Start” is to support small innovative companies, created less than two years ago, with turnover up to 1 million rubles. Grants under the program are received by enterprises seeking to develop and master production of a new good, product, technology or service using the results of their scientific, technical and technological research.
