During the week, four universities of the Republic of Tatarstan were presented competitions of the Foundation for Assistance to Innovation which has been supporting young scientists and innovators across the country for more than a quarter of a century. In particular, the events were held at the Kazan State Power Engineering University, Kazan State Architectural and Construction University, Kazan State Medical University and Kazan State Agrarian University.
The presentations were held as part of a meeting between CEO of Technopark “Idea” Oleg Ibragimov, rectors and vice-rectors of higher education institutions.
During the meetings, Oleg Ibragimov said that over 25 years of activity, the Foundation for Assistance to Innovation has considered more than 200,000 applications from all regions of Russia, and has financed more than 32,000 science-intensive projects, of which more than 18,000 are projects of young innovators. More than 6,500 startups have been created with the support of the Foundation.
Important elements of the support infrastructure - 27 innovation and technology centers have been created with the assistance of the Foundation. Regional representatives of the Foundation are actively working in 72 regions of the Russian Federation. The main platform of the Foundation in Tatarstan is the Technopark “Idea”, whose specialists help entrepreneurs in formulating an idea, filling out an application, etc. Over the past year, Tatarstan innovators have received grants worth more than 16 million rubles only under the program “UMNIK”. Also within the framework of the meeting, the sides discussed issues of interaction under the program “UMNIK” and other programs of the Foundation.
In addition, a number of universities were also introduced to the activities of institutions. So, the vice-rector for research work of Kazan State Agrarian University Evgeniy Vdovin presented centers equipped with equipment for classes and creativity of students: the Center for Technical Education, the Scientific and Educational Center “Strength”, the architectural and educational space “BFFT.space”, “Systems”, “Technologies”, etc.
According to Oleg Ibragimov, such meetings will be continued and aimed at expanding opportunities for students who want to implement and commercialize their projects.
