The First All-Russian Youth Innovation Convention completed its work and first owners of Vladimir Zvorikin National Prime in Innovation were announced.

On 9-10 of December the First All-Russian Annual Youth Innovation Convention was held in Congress-centre of Centre of international trade (Moscow). Ministry of sport, tourism and youth policy of RF and Federal agency for youth affairs was initiators of Convention holding.

Convention is:

· Point of increase for young inventors and innovators: more than thousand young inventors, innovators, scientists took part in the Convention work.

· Clear system of innovation activity encouragement: near one and a half thousand projects were sent to the Convention, 347 innovative projects and inventions from them were chosen to the competition and presented in the Convention.

· Place where meet ideas and investments: more than 10 big bargains were concluded during the Convention.

· Status Russian action: the Convention program included holding more than 10 master-classes and round tables and also mobile office work of Ruspatent. Scientific adviser of Innovation institute at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology Uriy Ammosov, Director-General of “TRIZ-profi” Victor Timokhov, writer Sergey Lukyanenko, chairman of boards of directors of ABBYY Company David Yan, director of international publishing programs at Elsevier publishing house Carl Schwarz, and many others spoke in master-classes and round tables. World-wide figures in the field of technologies and innovative business appeared before Convention participants: founder of Virgin Group Company Richard Branson, writer-futurologist, author of international best-sellers “Mega trends” and “Reinvention of corporation” John Nesbit, venture investor, one of founder of Apple Company Guy Kawasaki.

Culminating event of Convention was announcement and ceremonial awarding of laureates of Vladimir Zvorikin National Prime in Innovation.

All world know, everyday watch television and use electronic optical instruments. But almost nobody knows the name of its inventor. It is our countryman Vladimir Zvorikin. His invention identified world where we are living today.

Vladimir Zvorikin was born in 1889 in Russian empire. He studied in St. Petersburg Technological Institute. Vladimir served in Army Signal Corps in the First World War. He (можно еще had to тоже значение вынужден) obliged to emigrate inUSA in 1919.

Presidium of Expert council presided by minister of education and science of RF Andrei Fursenko defined first holders of the prime in five nominations.

Investment company “Basic element” and ONEXIM Group were sponsors of prime.

Minister of education and science of RF Andrei Fursenko, minister of sport, tourism and youth policy of RF Vitaliy Mutko, academician of Russian Science Academy, President of Russian scientific center “Kurchatovsk institute” Evgeniy Velikhov, chairman of Supervisory board of investment company “Basic element” Oleg Deripaska and Director-General of Russian Nanotechnology Corporation Anatoliy Chubais took part in awarding ceremony.

President of Russian Federation Dmitriy Medvedev was in awarding ceremony of the Prime (здесь мне кажется надо сказать не who, а he) who congratulated winners and affirmed that government is planning to continue taking direct part in creation of firm innovative platform.
