Development of innovative economy of the region was discussed during the briefing in the Cabinet Ministers of Tatarstan Republic.

The briefing in the Cabinet Ministers of Tatarstan Republic held on 12^th of February 2008 was devoted to development of innovation, particularly, Technopark “Idea” and Industrial park “Himgrad” activities, implementing the federal program of  High Technology Technopark creating.

The Director-General of Technopark “Idea” Sergey Yushko, the Director-General of “Idea Capital” Ltd Albert Karimov and the Chairman of small- and middle-scale businesses development Committee of Tatarstan Republic Timur Shagivaleev took part in the briefing.

At the moment the primary innovative infrastructure has already created in the territory of Tatarstan Republic, and one of central elements of this system is the Innovative Technopark “Idea”, - Sergey Yushko said. Scores of ideas and innovative projects have been realized for 4 years of Technopark operation. 94 projects are managing by Technopark’s managers. Technopark “Idea” provides all needed support to small- and middle-scale businesses, creators and talented young people by organizing and holding different contests (such as “Idea-1000”, “Perspektiva”) and venture fairs (jointly with Russian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association and Innovation Venture Fund of Tatarstan Republic).

Such events promote to attract attention to innovation development not only from the government, but also from large technology-based companies, private investor s, scientists and other participants, have a substantial influence on expansion of innovation as a whole.

Mass media representatives were interested in further stages of innovation development in Tatarstan. High TechnologyPark (which created according to the federal program) and Industrial Park “Himgrad” were announced as outstanding priority projects.
