The II Republican industry competition of innovative projects of young scientists “Science and Business” has been launched today in Tatarstan. 20 projects of students, postgraduates and young scientists from Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Ulyanovsk, Samara and other cities of the Volga region entered the presentation defense stage..

Welcoming the participants of the competition, Vice-President of the Kama Innovation and Territorial Production Cluster Leysan Abzalilova noted that this year the pandemic has made its corrections and the competition is held in the online format, which allowed to expand the geography of the competition participants

The head of the Innovation Program Development Department of Technopark “Idea” Farida Gainullina said that the competition is an opportunity for dialogue between young scientists and representatives of enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan: “Participants receive feedback from the best experts in the field of innovative project management, and representatives of enterprises get acquainted with young and creative participants whose interesting ideas can be implemented together”.

The winner of “Science and Business”, assistant of the Kazan State Power Engineering University Elena Kirzhatskikh told about the impact of the competition on the implementation of an innovative project: “Exactly a year ago, I was in the place of today's participants and presented my project. For the year I have already received 2 patents for an invention, one certificate of state registration, filed an application for a contract with a network company. Now a prototype of the device is being prepared and we are going to field tests”.

Also, Elena Kirzhatskikh noted that the distance format has its own special aspects: on the one hand, the participants perform from home and they feel more comfortable, on the other hand, it is more difficult to win the attention and hearts of the jury through the monitor screen.

Note that within the framework of the competition, projects will be selected in 4 main areas: information technologies, modern materials and technologies for its creation, new devices and hardware systems, resource-saving energy.

At the end of the event, Technopark “Idea” will award winners with cash prizes. The winner of the first place will receive 30,000 rubles, the participant who won the second place - 20,000 rubles, and the third - 10,000 rubles.

In parallel, the projects presented at the competition will be selected for the program “UMNIK” and apply for 500,000 rubles for 2 years.

Organizers of the competition are the Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU), Nizhnekamsk Institute of Chemistry and Technology “KNRTU”, Kama Innovation Territorial and Production Cluster and CJSC “Innovative and Production Technopark “Idea”.
