Participants of the federal competition presented digital transformation projects

Projects on digital transformation were presented by participants of the federal competition. Technopark “Idea” held a defense of projects in the competition “UMNIK - Digital Russia. Kazan”. Online defense brought together proactive youth from 11 cities of Russia (Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Kazan, Perm, Salavat, Saratov, Nizhny Novgorod, Yelabuga, Samara, Sterlitamak, Yekaterinburg). 26 projects presented at the competition were evaluated by a competent jury, which included a head of the startup incubator of Innopolis University Artem Usov, head of the department of medical physics at the Kazan Physics and Technology Institute named after E.K. Zavoisky Yakhya Fattakhov, representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, IT companies and others.

Among the participants of the project was a postgraduate student of the South Ural University Ivan Fedosov, who presented a highly sensitive system for complex diagnostics of electric motors for early detection of faults without stopping the technological process. Ivan explained that annually up to 15% of asynchronous motors in production require unplanned maintenance, the costs of which are growing by about 14% every year. The solution to this problem can be Ivan’s invention – a special device that based on collecting information from 3 independent sources: a temperature sensor, current speed and voltage, can give a signal about possible malfunctions. The developer plans to create a fully functional prototype by 2022.

The experts of the competition asked Ivan about the reliability of the device. He noted that the strength of the case is not in doubt, and “reliability tests are one of the main in the framework of R&D”.

During the defense, works were also presented on the development of a web resource for assessing the digital competencies of teachers of the future, the development of a software and hardware complex for determining the locations of insulation defects in electrical networks with a tree structure, an automated system for cleaning solar modules, etc.

Note that applications for the competition “UMNIK - Digital Russia. Kazan” were selected for the following “end-to-end” digital technologies:

  • artificial intelligence;
  • virtual and augmented reality technologies;
  • new production technologies;
  • robotics and sensor components;
  • wireless communication technology;
  • distributed register systems;
  • quantum technologies.

The Foundation for Assistance to Innovation held the competition on the basis of five centers of attraction, including Kazan.
