The International Conference “Russia and the World: Searching for Innovation Strategy” (The Gaidar’s Forum, 2011) has been holding in the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation from March 16 till March 19.
The Gaidar’s Forum – is an ongoing discussion platform, meeting-place of experts, which exert influence on the process of economic and political development. The Forum includes discussion of various ideas and approaches to understanding the global processes in Russia and in the world. Events of various sizes and formats are held in the Gaidar’s Forum. The largest one is the annual international conference “Russia and the world”.
The Forum organizers: Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy and Egor Gaidar’s Fund.
Key subject of the conference is the discussion of institutional principles of innovation economy, new requirements to political institutions and related financial policy, social challenges of modernization, as well as search of innovation growth points and innovation development models in the regions.
The conference is held on the basis of plenary discussions and expert round-tables. Plenary discussions is conducted and acted by the representatives of the Government and heads of a number of constituent entities of the Russian Federation, prominent Russian and foreign economists and public figures.
On March 18, the round table discussion on urgent issues of the creation of regional infrastructure for the development of innovation activities in case of the Republic of Tatarstan has been held within the International Research and Practice Conference “Russia and the World: Searching for Innovation Strategy”. Round table discussion has been conducted by Ildar Khalikov, 
Prime-Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, and attended by Deputy General Director of JSC “Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies” Andrey Svinarenko, General Director of CJSC ”Innovative Technology Park “Idea”” Sergey Yushko, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Technopolis “Himgrad” Albert Karimov, General Director of Special Economic Zone “Alabuga” Vasily Kudryashov, General Director of JSC “Tatneft” Shafagat Takhautdinov, General Director of JSC “KAMAZ” Sergey Kogogin, General Director of JSC “SOLLERS” Vadim Shvetsov, as well as foreign experts – Senior Advisor of the European Business and Innovation Centre Network (EBN) Jacques Pronk, President of CJSC “GE Money Bank” George Ishtvan Zolnai and others.
Round table discussion has involved issues concerning the advanced global and local experience in the development of innovation infrastructure, legislative and methodological initiatives in this sphere. During round table discussion, the participants have considered issues on efficiency of special economic zones, technology parks, venture funds, small-sized innovation enterprises under higher educational institutions and also have defined the forms of promising mutual cooperation.
Successful experience of the Republic of Tatarstan in the arrangement of activities and functioning of key constituent entities of regional innovation infrastructure has been presented at round table discussion. It included – 
Special Economic Zone “Alabuga”, modern Industrial Technopolis “Himgrad”, Innovation Technology Park “Idea”, JSC “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” and others.
The event was started with the signing of Agreement on Cooperation between the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademarks and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.
In addition, the Agreement on implementation of the project of “Establishment of Research and Development Centre in Technopolis “Himgrad”” between LLC “Izvarino Pharma” and CJSC “Innovative Technology Park “Idea”” has also been signed within the round table discussion.
