The Government of Tatarstan is interested in arranging system work between Technopark “Idea” and institutes of higher education and colleges.

The Board of Directors and stockholders meeting of Technopark “Idea” with the assistance of the Prime-minister of theRepublic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took place in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan. Ravil Muratov, the First Deputy Prime-minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Chairman of Board of Directors of Technopark “Idea”, held the meeting.

The agenda covered the issues concerned the cooperation work with higher education institutions of TatarstanRepublic, annual report and some other questions.

Sergey Yushko, Director-General of Technopark “Idea”, spoke in support of a proposal on creating technology transfer centers in each of higher education institutes of Tatarstan Republic and organizing so called project training. In other words, it means creating of team of specialists to innovative projects implementing: it will stimulate their innovative activity and let them show innovative potential. From his point of view it is often the absence of team that makes most projects to go flop.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov supposed students are not informed properly on the possibility of realizing their innovative ideas – that is why they do not deal with Technopark “Idea”. He proposed to create the indicator system of Technopark activity evaluation – it will serve to estimate Technopark activities, included cooperation with higher education institutions and search of innovative projects.

Besides, the members of the Board of Directors of Technopark “Idea” have discussed another issue: innovative project may be realized only in the case of the importance of these ideas to the industry. And it is Technopark that should become the connecting-link between the higher education institutions and large-scale enterprises of Tatarstan republic.

Sergey Yushko, Director-General of Technopark “Idea”, also discussed such important issue as project education that is generally used all over the world. Among the leading higher education institutes of Tatarstan Republic he mentionedKazan State Technological University, Kazan State Technological University named by Tupolev and Kazan StateUniversity named by Lenin.

As for financial stability of Technopark, Sergey Yushko said, that Technopark “Idea” achieved self-financing and self-repayment in the first quarter 2007. “The next step is to fund large quantity of innovative projects from the higher education institutions. The resources of the regional budget will be aimed to solve this task, but not to finance Technopark itself”, - he added.

On the whole, the year of 2006 has become determinant for Technopark activity. The reconstruction of the whole campus of Technopark had been over in the last year. The total area of the premises are estimated of 30 000 sq.m. At the moment 76 companies with over 700 employees are the residents of Technopark “Idea”.

The participant of Technopark “Idea” in the federal program had brought it the victory in the contest on creating of The High Technological Park in the one of seven Russian Technoparks.

From Sergey Yushko point of view, the prospects of Technopark “Idea” further activity are in the development and perfection of management company business processes and also in finishing the programs had been started.
